WHOO HOO!

Purchased 3/29/08 @ 2pm Delivered: 3/31/08 @ 5:30pm!

Well the years of waiting have finally paid off and I am now the proud owner of a new 2008 Yamaha Vstar Custom motorcycle! I think I was about 10 when I first thought riding a motorcycle would be cool and I was told by my mother that I would own one "over [her] dead body!" Well I am now 31, have not lived under her roof in almost 13 years, and unless something has happened since I saw her yesterday she is still alive. In fact I signed the paperwork Saturday afternoon, saw my entire family Sunday, and so far only Jen and I are even aware the bike dream has come true. Mom and Dad are currently on their way to Florida for the next two weeks and will not be checking e-mail let alone this blog until they get back. I suspect it will have been buried in the archives long before Mom finds her way back here and the proverbial cat is let out of the bag.


My plan is to not tell them I bought a bike. I want to see the look on their faces when I arrive at their house, possibly with Jen on the back, and park it in their driveway. I suspect my father will ask me where his helmet is and request a ride, possibly even to drive it if he remembers how to. Mom will flip her lid! She will not be happy I know how to ride let alone own one. It will be an interesting weekend for sure but I know it will blow over eventually. She will probably take it better knowing that I managed to ride it 250 miles on the expressway to get from my house to hers without incident. Maybe!
