Extra! Extra! Read all about the new site update!

It’s HERE! The new layout is out of development and currently in front of your eyes for an extensive beta test. I have ported over the history of posts and most comments and believe it to be 98% functional at this point. I’d like to point out all of the changes but there are so many that a listing of the major ones is all I can manage.

- New look and feel with darker colors and larger text area to reduce scrolling of posts
- New post excerpts on the main page with a link to the full post page for further reading
- New menu at the top of the page under the header image with links
Downloads – takes you to a page where you can download PDF versions of writings that are simply too long for blog posts. This includes The Dream and Hide-and-go-seek
Photo Albums – a link to my public Picasa web albums, currently only shows graphics for this blog and our Camping Trip last August … but more will come soon!
Home – a link to the main page of the blog, to prevent you from getting lost on post pages
- New counter to track stats better
- New Pull down menu listing for the archives, just makes it a little easier to find things. Each month is listed with the number of posts and selecting one gives you all of the posts from the entire month.
- And my personal favorite … a New countdown to 1/20/09 when the ERROR ends!

Known Issues to date:
- Black text next to comments form is hard to read
- RSS feed subscription not functional yet unless you run Atom
- Comments Posting form is too small
- Text becomes hard to read on large posts, working on alternate color and/or line spacing options to improve readability

If you find items that do not work, have comments or suggestions about the new layout, or just want to give a shout-out post a comment to this post and I will take a look at it. The new layout is still in beta status, and I reserve the right to make modifications to it any time of the day or night when another light bulb goes off in my head.
