The rising cost of going to work!

Okay I just did the math and I spend $13.12 a DAY driving to and from work. That totals up to almost $4,500 a YEAR in my gas tank JUST TO GET TO AND FROM WORK! I know that I am in the minority group of commuters who drive more than 30 miles one way to work but this is offset by the high gas mileage I get in my Mazda 3i car. If I were still driving the old Dodge Stratus, at a whopping 26mpg, I would be spending $15.76 a day and roughly $5,400 a year just to go to work. Mom, THIS is why I bought a motorcycle!

Sure driving a bike is a fun way to get from place to place but it is also an improvement in gas mileage by anywhere from 20 to 30 mpg depending on conditions and speed. Even at the low end I save $5 a day simply by riding my motorcycle. This might not sound like much but by the end of the summer I can potentially save close to $600 just in daily commute costs.
