Who would have guessed that 4 weeks ago when I came down with bacterial bronchitis it would lead to full blown asthma. That's right Mom you now have another asthmatic in the family. I've always had trouble with asthma when my allergies got bad, ain't dust wonderful, but it was mild and easily controlled with a small daily dose of singulair and a rescue inhaler for the really bad days. Since coming down with bronchitis on the other hand it appears that my asthma has kicked into over drive and will now require a more aggressive treatment program ... FUN!
The good news: much like my allergies it's curable, or at least should be curable. The theory is that when the bug is gone, which the new round of Biaxin should take care of, and the allergic reaction to dust is reduced a little more with my continuing shot therapy, the asthma should return to it's somewhat dormant state. Unfortunately it's just a theory but at least there is hope it will work.
